Characteristics of bearing steel

The main features of bearing steel are as follows: first, contact fatigue strength: under the effect of periodic load, the contact surface is easily damaged by fatigue, that is to say, cracks and peeling appear, which is an important damage situation of bearing. Therefore, in order to improve the service life of bearing, bearing steel must have high contact fatigue strength.

2、 Wear resistance: when undertaking tasks, not only rolling friction but also sliding friction will occur between the ferrule, rolling body and maintenance frame, so as to make the bearing parts wear all the time. In order to increase the wear of bearing parts, maintain the stability of bearing accuracy and extend the service life, bearing steel should have good wear resistance.

3、 Hardness: hardness is one of the important qualities of bearing quality, which has an effect on contact fatigue strength, wear resistance and elastic limit. A small part of the hardness of the bearing steel should reach HRC61 ~ 65, which can make the bearing obtain higher contact fatigue strength and wear resistance.

4、 Antirust performance: in order to avoid corrosion and rust of bearing parts and finished products in the process of processing, placing and application, it is required that bearing steel should have very good antirust performance.

5、 Processing performance: during the consumption process of bearing parts, there are quite a number of cold and hot processing procedures. In order to meet the requirements of small amount, high efficiency and high quality, bearing steel should have very good processing performance. For example, cold and hot forming performance, cutting performance, hardenability, etc.
